Yes, a mould kit is needed for every order to take your teeth impressions at home and send them to us. Alternatively, you can provide a dentist’s impression of your teeth.

We recommend seeing your dentist for advice before getting your caps made. This is important as we aren’t responsible for any potential damage to your teeth or surrounding oral tissues.

PRODUCT MATERIALS

Choosing the right metal for your grillz can be challenging, so we’ve compiled some helpful information to guide you. Below, you’ll find an overview of different metal options, along with their pros and cons.

925 Silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, offering an affordable option for grillz. 

Pros 

  • Affordable choice for beginners 
  • Shiny, similar to white gold 

Cons 

  • Tarnishes faster than other metals, especially with smoking, acidic drinks, or eating. A polishing service is available. 
  • Has a metallic taste 
  • More malleable, meaning it may lose shape if not properly cared for. We recommend placing grillz back on the mold to maintain shape. 

Dental Gold is a blend of alloys designed to mimic real yellow or white gold. It’s commonly used in dental work for its durability and tarnish resistance. 

Pros 

  • Affordable alternative to real gold 
  • Strong and durable 
  • Tarnish-resistant; smoking won’t affect it as much as silver or gold, but it may tarnish slower over time. A polishing service is available. 

Cons 

  • Hold less value than gold 
  • May contain nickel and other alloys, so if you’re sensitive to metals, real gold is a safer choice. 

What is 9ct Gold? 

9ct gold is a budget-friendly option with less gold content, offering a pale gold color and a beautiful shine. It’s strong and durable despite the lower purity.

  • More affordable 
  • Stronger and more durable than higher carats of gold 
  • A nice shine 
  • Safe for oral wear 
  • Great investment choice for real gold 

Cons 

  • May tarnish over time but can be restored with cleaning and polishing 

 

What is 14ct Gold? 

14ct gold has more gold content than 9ct, offering a richer colour while still being relatively durable.

  • Tarnishes slower than 9ct gold

Cons 

  • More expensive than 9ct gold 
  • Still tarnishes over time, but slower than 9ct gold, and can be restored

What is 18ct Gold? 

18ct gold is the highest purity used for grillz, providing a rich gold colour and preferred by those willing to invest in higher-quality jewellery. 

Pros 

  • Rich gold colour and shine 
  • Tarnishes slower than 9ct and 14ct 
  • Premium quality for a high-end look 

Cons 

  • Softer and more malleable than lower carats, requiring extra care to maintain shape.

HOW DO GRILLZ STAY ON TEETH?

Grillz are molded to fit the exact shape of your teeth, essentially acting as a cover that sits over them. They stay in place through friction and slight pressure, and some may include small extensions for added stability. It's important to ensure a proper fit and follow care instructions to keep them secure and comfortable.

Due to the nature of our work, if you’re ordering caps or have flat teeth, please note that fits may vary, and you might need additional support from our team, such as Fixodent or Poligrip. Gap-fillers are delicate and small, so they require extra care to avoid misplacing them after purchase.

PRODUCT CARE AND MAINTENANCE 

To clean your grillz, use a non-abrasive jewelry cleaner or warm soapy water. For best results, use a polishing cloth to keep the exterior shiny, gently brush with a soft-bristle toothbrush, and dry with a soft cloth.

It’s not recommended to smoke while wearing grillz. Smoking can lead to discoloration and tarnishing, affecting the appearance and durability of your grillz. Smoke particles can also get trapped between the grillz and teeth, potentially causing bacterial buildup and oral health issues. It’s best to remove your grillz before smoking.

It’s advisable to remove your grillz before eating or drinking. Food and drink can discolor or damage the metal, and eating with grillz may trap food particles, leading to bacteria buildup.

Grillz should be cleaned after every use to prevent bacteria buildup, which can harm your teeth, gums, and grillz.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

Since grillz are custom-made to fit your teeth, we don't accept returns unless there’s a manufacturing defect. If you have any issues with your order, please reach out to us through contact or Instagram, and we’ll work to resolve the problem.

Made-to-order products with manufacturing defects can be repaired and restored after a thorough evaluation. Additional repairs may incur a fee.
